Darkness... that's all that seemed to ever cover the landscape now. It was always dark on this forsaken island, always black, always dull enough to consider yourself blind. Dull... Empty... Black...
The mighty western dragon sighed inwardly, his chin resting among all the waving dark grasses. When he'd been free, when his wings could carry him to wherever he wish to go, grass had been so colorful, so relaxing yet exciting at the same time. It had been wonderful, the grasses on the Dragon Roost. So soft, so cool, yet warm at the same time, with a tendency to tickle your unprotected underside. But these... black grasses did no such thing. Their harsh composition burned his belly scales, pointed tips stuck between them and poked at his sensitive skin beneath....
So dark, this place...
"Nii-san... Nii-san, where are you?"
But in every darkness, there is some light...
Grinning from beneath the scale that covered his whole upper face, the older dragon lifted his saurian head slowly, his ice blue gaze piercing the darkness in search of the sound source...
"I'm here, Kuro..."
The younger eastern drak's furry little head popped up suddenly from the grasses, his long ears perked curiously and his head tilted to the side. Upon sighting his older brother, his head disappeared again and he trotted smoothly over to where he'd seen the black and white dragon laying, tripping on his paws at the end and falling face first before his brother, grinning sheepishly...
"Very graceful..."
Bodaway couldn't help but laugh a little at his sibling's lack of coordination, ruffling the furry dragon's head fuzz with one massive hand/paw. Kuro snorted in turn...
"You try walking with short legs and the world's most massive tail and we'll see how graceful you are..."
Struggling up to a sitting position, the younger drak's golden gaze scoured the darkness fearfully, his tall ears flattening back against his head as he scooted a tick closer to his brother...
"I think something's out there, Nii-san..."
Bodaway snorted casually...
"You always think something's out there..."
