The rivers... They burned like fire, shined like lights and illuminated the area around their banks in a gentle orange and yellow glow. But the gray ground looked just that... gray, boring and dead, just like everything else in this place...
They had to get out of here...
The black dragon sighed as escape came back to mind, his ice blue gaze closing in exasperation. No matter how many times he thought about it, there was no way for them to escape. He really just needed to let it go... But his little brother deserved better than this, he really did...
Speaking of the younger eastern dragon, he chose just that moment to trot up beside the bipedal saurian type dragon, tripping over his paws as always but keeping his footing, as well as a cheerful smile...
"What'cha thinkin', Nii-san?"
The older drak simply shook his massive head, the black hair upon it swaying with the motion...
"Nothing important..."
The smaller dragon furrowed his brow at his brother's lie. He knew that whatever his nii-san was thinking, he was not enjoying it. They'd been together for 10 years now. He knew when his brother was happy and when he wasn't... Right now he wasn't, but the clever little easter knew how he could change that...
Smiling and waving his tail a bit, he began to prance a bit beside his larger brother, not caring who saw him and who didn't...
"Mayaheeeee.... mayahooooooooo.... mayahaaaaaaaaw.... mayahaha...."
The taller drak stared at his brother awkwardly when the furry dragon started his singing. It wasn't a bad sound, his brother's singing voice actually being quite pleasant. He just hadn't been expecting it.... but it didn't take much for the older drak to join in, his voice even more smooth and soothing than his brother's...
"Hello... Salute.... It's me.... your duke.... And I made... something that's great to show you... how I feel..."

Ko soared high above the two dragons. Her brother Diamond Jsck layed down between her wings like he did when he was tired on the island of Dragon Rioost Island. Diamond jack spoke his lagnuage like always "êáëçíý÷ôá...¸ëëçíáò," Ko paused still floating in the air she sanpped at her brother
"Don't ever say that!" Ko knew he was talking about his father..Death....She continued to cricle the two dragons before she landed some ways behind the two. The small kit closed his eyes and curled up into a ball, still laying between his sister's mighty wings. Ko layed on her stomach and rested her head upond her paws. She tried not to scratch her face up again with her claws.

Laughing together, the two black dragons pranced down the trail, the older of the pair watching his brother dance and sing about.
"Hello... Hello... It's me... Picasso. I will paint... My words of love... on every wall...."
His golden gaze shifted to his brother, cuing the chorus...
"When you leave, my colors fade to gray. Ohwa ohwa ei ohwaohwaohwa ei. Every word of love I used to say. Now I make them every day.... When you leave my colors fade to gray, a little lover stay before my colors fade away. Every word of love I used to say, now I make them every day!."
They paused in their song to laugh with each other. It was a humorous song, even if the lyrcis weren't very funny. The melody was upbeat, fun and quite charming. One of those get up and dance songs...
Easily enough to distract the two from the presence behind them as they continued down the trail...
((That's the english version of the Numa Numa song they're singing by the way. I was feeling sort of down when I made this thread and that song always makes me happy again. ^^))

Ko opened one eye and watched the two dragons as they went down the trail. Ko followed them trying to keep her presences unknown but the snoring coming form her brother would soo nattract attention. The white fae slapped him lightly with her long tail getting him to stop "Keep quite little one.." She said softly to him as she heard him say in his sleep "ó' áãáðþ " Ko smiled happily now that she knew her brother really loved her "I love you too..."
Carefully she continued to follow the two dragons, Diamond Jack woke up and got closer to her warm body trying not to yawn he closed his eyes again and slept. Ko kicked a rock and as soon as she notices that the rock hit one of the dragons she plopped to the ground and yipped.
((Aww..))

((I would say 'aww' except it's so random, I'm just confused... o.O))
Having been alternating the verses like they were supposed to, the elder drak started up this time, his long tail swaying back and forth in tune with the beat.
"I sold... my street... my song... and dreams. And I bought... some things to match the colors... of my love..."
The quad drak picked up where his nii-san had left off, prancing about pretty blatantly, not caring who saw him and who didn't...
"Hello... hello... it's me again.... Picasso. I will spread... my words of love... with your name, on every wall..."
The joyous expression on his brother's face was enough to get the other usually more serious dragon to start spinning and dancing. If there was one thing he was going to admit about his half brother, it was that the eastern knew how to cheer a guy up, that's for sure...
"When you leave, my colors fade to gray. Ohwa ohwa ei. ohwaohwaohwa ei. Every word of love I used to say. Now I make them every day.... When you leave my colors fade to gray, hey little lover stay before my colors fade away. Every word of love I used to say, now I make them every-"
The chorus of two was suddenly cut short by the western's grunt and the following cringe, both hands going up to the back of his head and gripping the spot the rock had hit. The younger drak, surprised by his brother's sudden halt and confused about the pained look on his face, immediately turned around to face whomever had hit his nii-san, ears back and teeth barred...
"What'd you do that for?!"

Ko looked puzzled "I diddn't do it!" Diamond Jack woke up angerly. The skull around his neck glowed blood red "ìðýñá êñáóß?" Ko closed her eyes and sat up and felt her brother's claws digging into as hee climbed her long back to reach her head.
"He said.. Can't you keep the nosie down?"
Diamond Jack leaped off his sister's head and paced towards tthe dragons and growled lightly. "ÌéëÜôå ÁããëéêÜ!" Ko laughed as she heard her borther calling them fools for waking him up "I.." She paused as her brother ran towards her and leaped bac konto her head. She soon continued what she was saying "I'm sorry I thought you would know where my brother could get help..And as I followed you two I accadently kicked the rock at your brother..But I didn't mean to !"

The young eastern type dragon stared angrily at the fox, minorly surprised to find it was a kitsune. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he was glad. maybe this kit knew japanese too. Since his mother met her fate on this very island some time ago, he hadn't been able to find a single sould who could speak his original language except his brother, who only knew what the eastern had taught him. Despite that, the glare stayed, particularly when the fox dared to approach him...
Opening his jaws to give the little vermin a piece of his mind, the furry little drak was cut short when those same jaws with clamped shut by two powerful claws hands. Surprised, he barely kept from biting his tongue, his golden gaze darting to his right to see his brother shaking his head. Reluctantly, he quieted, pulling out of his nii-san's grasp with a grunt...
The older dragon, a western, simply smiled sheepishly at his brother, ruffling the short fur between his erect horns before turning his attention to the other two with a smile...
"It's okay. My bad for being oblivious..."
He laughed a little, rubbing the back of his head with one hand...

((I wouldn't call that mind-reading anyway. Mind reading is when your character response to something my character was only thinking. Like if Kuro thought Kohaka was ugly and she suddenly said "hey! I'm not ugly!". that's mind reading. )) Though his suspicions were confirmed about the kitsune, the eastern dragon did not look pleased. He knew this fae from the island before. She'd insulted Bodaway and he could simply not forgive her. Snorting, he sat down awkwardly, his elongated body slouching strangely in such a position. So, he reared up instead, sitting more like his pi-pedal brother might with his legs splayed childishly and his forepaws hanging in front of him... "Well, what do ya' know? He speaks Japanese too, Kuro." Pointing joyously toward the fox, the elder dragon's ice cold gaze landed on his brother, who looked the opposite of his normally humorus self at the moment. What could be bothering the little one at the moment was beyond him. Curious, he too sat down, leaning over to talk with his little brother quietly... "What's up?" Kuro simply glared off to the side in a pout of sorts... "I don't like her..." His brother nudged him playfully with his human-like elbow. "But you barely know her..." The youngling sneered, half barring his teeth at his brother... "I know enough not to like her..." Giving in, the elder dragon straightened up, hoping that their little conversation had gone unheard. They'd been pretty much whispering and the others were far enough down the trail that he was pretty sure they'd missed it... but you never know. Scratching the back of his head again, he turned his icy attention back toward the fae and her companion... "Sorry. Where are my manners? I'm Bodaway and this is my little brother Kuro..." He placed a hand on his brother's shoulder haphazardly, trying to make it seem like the furry easter dragon was more cuddly than it he looked at the moment. His response was another snort...

Ko looked up at the dragons, dropping her stomach to the ground. Reaching for Diamond jack in a lovely fashion she started whispering to her brother.
"I have to go back to the island..."
"Naze?"
"Because...Valoo is calling.."
Ko listened to the odd calls of Tameus's recarnation....Valoo.... She spread her mighty bat wings and beat the wind.
"Oh and dia use the skull around your neck to call me...."
She turned toward the direction that she had to go, She beat the wind harder then ever soaring off she ungolated her body a few times and at other times she flapped her wings. Before you could blink the fae was out of sight. Now it was only Dia and the dragons.
"kanata anzenbi bii shisuta, dousojin aaiu doragon negura airando."
He had spoken in japanese once more, not knowing english the young kitsune had a hard time telling the 'That was my sister, guardian of dragon roost island.' He shooke his fur and looked puzzling at the dragons, sitting down he squeaked.

The elder dragon, Bodaway was quite surprised that she would leave so suddenly, so randomly. Was she afraid of them or something? Had he said something wrong? Not that he was bothered by her departure, nothing ever bothered him. It was more that she'd chosen just after introducing himself to take off, without a word or even a goodbye for that matter. It was enough to drop the grin from his black and white face, exchanging it for a scowl of sorts as he stared at her retreating form...
Maybe Kuro was right not to like her...
As if reading his brother's mind, the youngest of the siblings leaned toward his brother, whispering in the saurian dragon's invisible ear.
"Told ya so..."
The two both thought and acted very much a like, both relatively friendly creatures with very specific pet peeves that will set them off like a loaded gun. While Kuro could only speculate what his bother was scowling at, his speculations were almost guaranteed acurate. Plus, he'd lived with bodaway here on the island long enough to know...
Bodaway simply ignored his younger sibling, struggling to decipher what the kitsune had said. Unlike Kuro, he knew minimal Japanese and squinted at the little fox, as if trying to see the words only to be interrupted by his bother's laugh. With Kohaka gone, the younger drak felt better and more like his usually humorous self... but that faded quickly enough...
"machijikan ! doragon nonegurano hogosha wo itsutta ka?"
Furrowing his brow a bit, Kuro called to the kit in the one language they both could speak while Bodaway stared at the two of them with the most confused of looks on his face, unaware that his brother had said 'Wait! Did you say the guardian of the dragon roost?'...

The kit sucrried toward the dragons and nodded his head in uderstoodment.
"Daku daku!"
Saying 'Yes yes!' he smiled happily, sitting down he still smiled.
"Nave?"
He asked the young dragon 'Why?' in confusment. He started scratching his ears and peered a them with a weird look in his eyes. He yipped and rolled around in the dirt. Nave? He asked himself why(in thought.)

((You might want to check your translator. Hai is the more common way to say yes in japan... then again, Mattei is the common way to say wait too. ^^))
The dark dragon's brow furrowed deeper, his muzzle tensing as what he'd believed was confermed. So she was one of the dragons that had trapped his brother here, he knew it! The moment they'd met on the Dragon Roost beach, he'd known she was part of the reason. that's probably why she'd insulted him there, talked about Bodaway like she knew him. She probably banned him herself. His tensing intensifed into a full out snarl, his long ears laying back against his head and his teeth barred in a threatening snarl...
Needless to say, Bodaway was immediately shocked and perplexed by his brother's reaction. He was the one with the quick temper, not Kuro. What could work the little dragon up so much he could only speculate, but he chose the most outright path...
"Kuro, what in the---?"
His little brother cut him off with a snort...
"She's the Dragon Roost guardian, that dragon that just left. She's the one who bannished you..."
Unsure how his brother had come to this confusion, the western drak just let his jaw drop, exposing his blue tongue and mouth while Kuro continued his explanation...
"I met her yesterday, I think, on the Dragon Roost Island. We went fishing together and it'd been fun I suppose... right up until she called you a dreadful beast. that bitch had no right to say anything like that about you. It's her fault you're here!"
Bodaway's jaw almost fell right off the hinges. Normally, if he found out someone had been talking about him, he would be pissed and immediately seek them out to confrunt them about it. However, this time, he was more shocked it's bothered little Kuro so much. The eastern dragon was usually the calm one that kept his brother from blindly attacking someone, but this female had aparatently said something so devistating, it had turned the tables completely.
".. Kuronou.."
He was stunned. He'd never truly seen Kuro angry, in all honesty. Usually, he was very calm and gentle, always smiling and what not. The only other time Bodaway had seen his brother's teeth barred was when he found out the Dark dragons had raped his mother to her death a few years ago...
"Calm down little brother. Words don't mean a thing..."
The eastern dragon just snorted again, glaring daggers at the kitsune as if it were his fault his sister had said what she had about Bodaway...
"... hers did..."

((Daku is obedintly saying yes.))
Finally the kit understood......Looking up at the sky he heard voices....The voices of Tameus and Valoo....A blackish purple aura gave off of Diamond Jack. He felt the pain and sorrow of his sister Kohaka, and nothing more. After hearing what the two dragons were saying, flames appeared around his paws and around his tail.
"No! It wasn't my sister that bannished him! It was Tameus with the help of his son....Valoo!"
He was shocked That wasn't supposed to be english.... He sat down on the ground before the two dragons but the young kitsune got up and turned away walking back to where he and Kohaka landed. He layed down, silence was broken by a dragons mighty roar...
"Sister....?"

((Oh, I guess that's fair...))
Not at all surprised by the aura around the kitsune or even that he was speaking in English, Kuro hoisted himself to his feet defiantly, barring his teeth again in a dreadful snarl. His ears were laid back, his golden eyes narrowed and his fur bristling...
Bodaway opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. His brother ended up cutting him off...
"You liar! It couldn't have been Lord Tameus. He was sealed away long before then..."
Growing more and more angered by the second, the eastern dragon's dark pupils narrowed as he took a step toward the much smaller fox. Luckily, his brother had been paying attention and grabbed the eastern drak by the tail to hold him back without a word. It was so odd, the way Kuro was behaving and Bodaway couldn't figure it out for the life of him. In the years they'd spent together, he'd never seen his brother behave like this. It was usually the other way around, Kuro holding him back from some poor unsuspecting bystander...
Icy blue gaze settled on the back of his brother's head, staring at what he could see of the smaller drak with concern while he mouthed off at the kitsune...
"Bastards! Lieing, cheating, no good-... get your heads out of your asses for a minute and look around at what you've done!"

"Valoo...."
He stared at the dragons with an odd look on his face. It wasn't ko....And she didn't mean what she had done the other day on Dragon roost.... He thought for a while and wanted Kuro to read his mind but it was impossible.....He opened his small but sterdy mouth, sighinh the kit turned his attention to the sky then the dragons.
"It wasn't kohaka that bannished you...It was Valoo..."
He had to confess to what Valoo had done other wise ko was in trouble. A breif breeze struck his back. He lashed at the air with his nine-tails. What were the dragons looking at? He pondered the dragons for a minute before returning to his sitting spot.
"I'm sorry..."

"Lies! I'm sick of all your stinking lies!"
Finding his tongue, the western dragon took hold of his brother's tail again, this time using his powerful forearms to pull him back...
"That's enough Kuro..."
Though normally, his voice was lighthearted, carefree and rather gentle, his command was stren, forceful, enough to make the younger drak tear his gaze away from the fox, redirecting it to his brother's off-white face. In a moment of sanity, Kuro quieted, looking down at his feet instead of back toward the fox...
Accepting this as a sign of surrender, Bodaway sighed, placing a caring hand on his brother's head before looking up toward the nine-tailed...
"No, I'm sorry about that. He's not usually so... so..."
Searching for a word, the elder sibling looked down at his brother sternly, but the sight of the furry creature with his head down and his ears back made Bodaway lighten up a bit. Managing a small smile, he ruffled his little brother's hair affectionately...
"well... he's just not normally like that..."
((Sorry I was gone for so long! My cable company had to do some maintanence work which killed my cable modem and the internet connection to follow...))
